This summer thousands of foreign students traveled to the New Jersey shore to work at many businesses that hire foreign students, like parks, restaurants, shops, etc. Many work hard to save money before they come back to their home countries, like Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Bulgaria, and Turkey. The most favorite destinations this year are Wildwood, Ocean City, Sea Side and Belmar.
Besides working hard, the students spend a lot of time on the beach. But most simply work as many hours as possible. Some have two or even three jobs and may end up working as many as a hundred hours per week. Some even refuse to take any day offs. They also do not mind working on weekends.
All of these students come on a J1 student exchange visa which allows them to work and travel in the United States for up to four months. The participants of the program also receive Social Security card and other important documents.
